In the Rhetorical stage, children are taught Rhetoric and how to communicate winsomely and effectively. This is the final stage of the Trivium. Here children bring the knowledge they learned at the Grammar and Logic Stages and learn how to solve difficult problems, become self-aware, and express what they think through speech, papers, or in groups.
Students will refine their ability to recognize ideas, form an argument, and communicate eloquently and convincingly.

What your child will be doing in Rhetoric school

- Prepare and receive faith formation for the Sacrament of Confirmation (8th grade).
- Attend daily Mass with opportunities to receive the Sacrament of Confession.
- Latin and English grammar.
- Dimensions Math - Singapore Math Curriculum.
- Draw conclusions from a series of facts.
- Identify formal logic and logical fallacies.
- Understand the how and why behind Mathematical computations.
- Write well-structured, persuasive, and eloquent papers.
- Memorize and recite great poetry.
- Study the lives of the saints and give an oral presenation.
- Orchestra (5th-8th).

- Memorize Latin prayers and hymns (i.e. Salve Regina and Regina Caeli).
- Sing and serve at Mass.
- History, literature and theology are integrated, not isolated.
- Conduct a science research project and present their findings.
- Formal science labs.
- Read classic novels such as The Yearling, The Merchant of Venice, The Screwtape Letters, St. Theresa of Avila.
- Perform a Shakespeare play.
- Join buddy groups with lower grades.
- Attend field trips.
