1. How old does my child need to be?
Our preschool is for children ages 3-6 years old. Children must be 3 years old by the start of the new school year.
2. Does my child need to be potty trained?
Yes, all children must be potty trained. We understand that accidents do happen, so we ask that parents pack a full set of extra clothes and underwear.
3. What days and times are classes held?
Our preschool is full day Monday through Friday and is in session August through May. The first bell rings and doors open at 7:40 am and class begins at 7:50 am and ends at 3 pm. The preschool hours follow the St. Gabriel Classical Academy school hours.
4. Are the teachers trained in the Montessori Method?
Our teachers have been trained in the Montessori teaching method at Mary’s Catholic Montessori Training Center.
5. Do they have to wear uniforms?
No, our preschoolers are not expected to wear uniforms but we do have an attire guideline, which you can download HERE.
6. How many children are in the classroom?
Our preschool does not exceed 20 students.
7. Do you provide lunch and snacks?
Yes, our preschool will provide snacks and lunch for all students. Children need to bring a spill proof water bottle labeled with their name. You willl need to pre-order lunch selections for your child which is explained HERE.
8. Do the preschoolers attend Mass or receive faith formation?
Our preschoolers will not attend daily Mass but may attend Mass on occasion (depending on the readiness of the students and the teachers discretion). Prayers and reading stories of the Saints will take place daily, with plans to incorporate Catechsis of the Good Shepherd.
9. Do the preschoolers take a nap?
Yes, all children will have a scheduled "afternoon rest/quiet time." Sleeping mats will be provided but we do ask that parents bring a crib sheet, small pillow and small blanket (or you can purchase a "nap mat").
