Margie Heck is a licensed elementary educator who has been teaching and giving piano lessons for over 40 years. Understanding students’ learning styles has helped her be able to match the different methods and styles with each student to enhance the students’ joy of music and their success with the process.  She started college as a music major before transferring to elementary education which better fit her family responsibilities at the time. Margie’s love for working with children has inspired her to teach children from preschool through high school. She was a youth minister in Indianapolis for two years with their Parish and has directed musicals and children’s choirs. She’s looking forward to growing in her own understanding of the Gregorian Chant and teaching music in the Classical Catholic School environment offered here at St. Gabriel’s. Margie and her husband Tim have lived in Colorado Springs since 2020 where they enjoy spending time with their children and ten grandchildren who live in the area. They also travel as frequently as possible back to Indianapolis and Wisconsin to visit their other ten grandchildren. They feel blessed to enjoy hiking, biking, paddle boarding, and skiing throughout beautiful Colorado.
