Joshua Head is an active concert and church musician, coach, video editor, and music educator based in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Between everything he does, Joshua uses his various skills to praise God through music, pursue musical excellence, train pro-life advocates how to be more effective at dialogue, and teach students how to love and play music at a higher level.
In the past decade, music has taken Joshua all over the country and around the world as he has performed in 21 states and also in Japan, Ecuador, and Norway. Notable concerts include performing at the Oslo Opera House for the King of Norway, at Carnegie Hall with violinist Sarah Chang, and at Severance Hall with the St. Olaf Choir. Joshua currently performs with the Chamber Orchestra of the Springs and frequently subs with the Colorado Springs Philharmonic.
Joshua began his journey as a church musician at St. Patrick parish in 2020. That experience sparked a desire to discover, perform, and share the beauty of sacred music with others, with the two ultimate goals of praising God and pursuing musical excellence. These goals are what motivate Joshua to continue to learn about the sacred music tradition and pass on that knowledge to others. He is excited to do this as a teacher at the St. Gabriel Classical Academy. Joshua is also an active member of the Music Ministry at Our Lady of Lourdes parish in Denver.
Additionally, Joshua works as a club coach and video editor for the Equal Rights Institute (ERI), a national pro-life organization that trains pro-life advocates to think clearly, reason honestly, and argue persuasively about the issue of abortion. Joshua has been training pro-life advocates with the ERI method for seven years and has many stories on how pro-choice people have become pro-life as a result of effective and respectful dialogue.
Joshua graduated with a Masters Degree in Viola Performance from the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University, preceded by his Bachelor of Music (summa cum laude) in Viola Performance from St. Olaf College.
