Barbara Dawson grew up in Ohio and received her Bachelor’s degree in Education from
University of Dayton and a Master’s in Early Childhood Education from Wright State University.
Barbara taught for 15 years in the Dayton, Ohio area including two inspiring years teaching
kindergarten at a local Catholic School. Seven years ago, her family decided to move to
Colorado Springs, and immediately felt welcomed into the St Gabriel's Parish family. Barbara
taught Faith Formation for three years and also volunteers yearly at Vacation Bible School and
Briarfest. After several years away from teaching while focusing on raising her son, Barbara
was excited to return to the classroom last year as a substitute teacher at St Gabriel Classical
Academy. This year she will be joining the staff and students on a daily basis teaching 5th and
6th grade math. In their free time, she and her family enjoy spending time in the mountains and
traveling to new places.
